Business Development Sales Representative for Entrepreneurial Internet-Based Insurance Business -
80k+ OTE with highly competitive base salary & bonus, full benefits, great growth potential.
Looking for bright, articulate, focused, results-oriented outbound telephone B2B sales representative with superior research, marketing, business development and relationship management skills. Must have a verifiable track record of growing top line through the new affinity / affiliate relationships with medium to large institutional organizations and key industry influencers.
Must have proven ability to identify, develop, build and manage complex relationships with medium to large institutions in selected health, wellness and beauty disciplines and grow high-quality sales utilizing the endorsement or sponsorship of the affinity organization to gain access to their constituents (e.g., members, customers, readers, students, etc.) These organizations may include associations, schools, vendors, publications, tradeshow sponsors, websites and other key industry influencers.
The candidate must have a nose for the goal line and the ability to close business. Results, as opposed to activity, are the true measure of success in this role. This role requires superior skills in the following three areas:
Research (20%) – the ability to identify and uncover critical information about the key institutions and spheres of influence within selected disciplines.
Marketing (20%) – the ability to interpret the information garnered during the research phase and develop compelling ideas and deal structures that creates value for all parties.
Sales (60%) - the ability to effectively articulate the idea and develop a relationship with the affiliate.
These business development and sales capabilities must be supported by outstanding telephone sales skills and effective verbal and written communication skills.
The candidate must have the willingness and ability to make significant numbers of outbound telephone calls on a daily basis to new potential B2B customers.
The candidate must also have the willingness and ability to take a modest number of inbound calls from new and existing retail customers to handle the overflow from an onsite retail call center.
Must have the temperament and ability to work in a fast-paced environment where priorities can change frequently. The willingness and ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks is imperative. The willingness and ability to take responsibility for managing projects from beginning to end in a team-based environment across multiple disciplines, bringing them to a timely and successful conclusion, and exceeding customer expectations is critical for success.
NOTE: Experience in professional liability insurance for allied healthcare disciplines, complementary and alternative medicines, beauty professionals, medical malpractice lite, and/or excess and surplus lines coverage preferred. Hands-on, 24/7 work ethic, self-starter and ability to function with minimal supervision.
