Are you an outside or inside sales professional who has recent experience selling to the marine industry? Are you an outside or inside sales professional who loves the outdoors and really enjoys boating and fishing? Are you outside or inside sales professional who wants to play a major role in the growth of our client's newest product?
Our client has been selling marine hardware to OEM boat manufacturers for over 40 years, and that business continues to grow. With the introduction of a new aftermarket product, our client's marine business is rapidly expanding with a product that is being used heavily by bass fisherman and boaters in general. As National Sales Manager-Marine Products, you will be responsible for both OEM and aftermarket product lines, with a heavy concentration on growing sales for the aftermarket product as well as introducing that product to OEM boat manufacturers. The majority of your time will be spent in our client's home office as this is not a high travel position. You will, however, have occasional face to face customer contact with individual customers. You will also attend annual conventions, boating events, and bass fisherman tournaments, primarily in the southern part of the US.
As National Sales Manager you will:
Develop, implement, and meet/ exceed a sales and marketing plan to increase overall sales in the Marine Division.
Achieve sales growth from servicing existing customers, identifying additional growth opportunities within current customers, and increasing the market footprint of the aftermarket product.
Plan and attend regional/ national industry shows, OEM events, and attend various bass tournaments.
Partner with ad agency to develop and execute various marketing plans to grow sales--print , digital, and social.
Gain distribution and increase sales in various channels of trade within the bass fishing industry (OEM, Dealer, Regional Retail and National Accounts).
Further expand social media exposure within the bass fishing industry.
Develop and implement a sales activity, market share, and profitability program by product, customer, representative and representative group.
Dealer Development - Establish new dealers and increase sales within existing dealer network.
Develop and implement key sales reporting tools for continuous monitoring of various sales metrics.
Maintain ACT!/CRM database.
Contribute to the overall improvement and success of our client's sales effort.
Your background must include:
Bachelor's degree preferred
Minimum of 5 years of inside or outside sales experience which includes a history of sales growth
Experience in the marine industry a MUST! Experience may be selling either to dealers or to OEM boat manufacturers.
Outdoors oriented. Preference for a candidate who loves to fish!
Pleasant telephone demeanor, persuasive, succinct explanations delivered with conviction, product knowledge, and enthusiasm.
Experience using a CRM system.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Strong presentation skills.
Account Management/Relationship Management skills
Assessment techniques of examining, questioning, and evaluating.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
