Outside Sales Representative - Commercial Construction
Altoona, PA (Office Location)*
*Candidates should reside within approximately 45 minutes of office and willing to travel to customers’ locations
Well established and successful commercial construction company is seeking an experienced Sales Representative to joint their expanding sales team.
Qualifications and Responsibilities:
  • Five+ years of outside sales experience
  • Knowledge of commercial site development and building construction required
  • Prior leadership or construction management/project management experience preferred
  • Candidates must have a proven record of success in business development (B2B sales)
  • Ability to read blue prints and perform project estimations to develop and execute sales prospect plans
  • Must be driven with an outgoing personality and strong work ethic
  • Ability to clearly communicate, both verbally and in writing, to all levels of staff
  • Ability to maintain relationships and identify new opportunities with existing customers; develop and implement plans for increasing sales
  • Strong planning and organizational skills; resources and task management skills
  • Competent in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to travel overnight at times to meet with customers, attend trade shows, and trainings
Job Description:
  • Learn and demonstrate changes in industry standards and regulatory codes
  • Provide contractors, builders and customer with sales quotes, negotiates pricing, applicable submittals and secures terms of sale
  • Updates and maintains customer specific information within company systems. Ensures accurate account, customer details and contact information available to management and support teams
  • Follow up with customers to secure contracts, change orders, and work orders negotiated and approved
  • Responsible for being thoroughly knowledgeable about products, pricing and availability and monitoring market trends and practices.
  • Follow up with clients and take appropriate action to ensure complete customer satisfaction with products and services provided.
  • Achieve specification and sales activity goals
Compensation and Scheduled Overview:
  • Salary based on experience
  • Schedule is typically Monday –Friday
